I have a 2003 Ranger fx4 and would like to mount an ATV winch on a roll bar or a rack in the bed of the truck but have not found anything strong enough to mount it to except with the bolts that hold the bed on. I am concerned that just that will no be enough with the leverage at that height will be more that the bolts will hold. Anyone have any experience with doing this?

 

I would mount the winch to the bed/frame and then use a detachable pulley on the roll bar, obviously the roll bar would have to be sturdy enough for this, so not a decorative roll bar, lol.

Depending on the winch you use, mounting it sideways may give you more usable bed room.

You can either temporarily strap/clamp the pulley in place or have an attachment point welded to the roll bar
