I am going to look at another Ranger today for my drag truck project but was told the bed is kinda messed up. The truck is a 91 long bed standard cab. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or tried to swap a different gen bed on a first or second gen Ranger and how it looked.

 

With out actually seeing it on there, I would say that a rounded bed from a gen 3 an up would look funny with the boxy cab of a 1st or 2nd gen.

 

I've seen it done before. Always looks odd 2 me. Plus they Gen 2 to Gen 3 has a slightly different sized bed.

 

HAHA..I've seen it before. Was a Gen 2 with a Gen 4 bed(same bed as gen3)...but holy crap...the Gen 3+ bed looked HUGE compared to the Gen2 cab. Was ungodly ugly.

 

Good enough for then.

I went to look at the 91 for sale and it was in pretty bad shape.Im still lookin .

Man I really wish they made a 1st and 2nd gen with a Flareside bed!

 

Somewhat related to the topic, but there's a guy around here with a light blue '88ish S10 std cab with a 98 S10 fleetside bed on it. Looks absolutely redonkulous.
