Bama Tuner
Hello, i was wonderin how much difference there is in performance between the different octane rated tunes. Is it really noticable kinda, or not really. Im looking for a little extra power, but dont really wanna pay any more for gas if i dont have to. Also, were the powers located (low rpm etc). I figured the torque one was down low, but was wondering what yall knew ( yall haveta know more than me) Performance, Torque, and race.
Whatsw your opinion on hte different tunes? thanks for the help

I have 87 torque, 89 performance, and 91 torque. Just the lower end torque increase from stock to 87 is great, than from 87 to 91, i'd have to say the butt dyno says more torque from idle to redline how much I have no idea. You'd have to see if someone has done a dyno run to know how much and where. I'd say worth it, but like most performance upgrades everything works together.......oh just notice you have the 3.0 sorry I don't know how the 3.0 does with the tuner. Good luck.

My Bama tuner was programmed with 87 performance, 91 economy and 91 performance. Doug told me he did not have an economy tune but I ask him to do what he could. It turns out the 91 economy is just the 91 torque program.
I did quite a bit of performance testing to see the difference of the various programs. With the 91 programs I found the torque program gave me better overall performance. The 91 performance program was good if ran it to red-line but was not practical for everyday use. The 91 performance program actually gave the best gas mileage of the three programs.
I prefer to run the 87 performance program because it gives me better performance than stock as well as improved gas mileage. It also has better response than stock and the drive-ability is better. If I want more power I switch to 91 torque and have not used 91 performance since I ran the tests. Even though 91 performance gives me the best gas mileage, it does not improve enough to overcome the higher cost of the premium fuel.
