Bama tune files?

Hey when did Doug start charging for new tunes? I thaught they were e-mailed for free, but looking at the site it looks like he's charging for them now. So does this mean that if I put an intake, exhaust, and larger tires on my truck I got to pay to have my tunes corrected for these? Or is it just for if I want to move from say an 87 Octaine to a 93 Octaine?

I never knew he did them for free. I thought he always charged for a new tune. You don't HAVE to get a new tune if you put on an air intake or exhaust. You MIGHT pick up an extra 1-2 HP if you get a new tune to maximize the new intake or exhaust. if you put in a larger MAF sensor you might need a new tune. Tires and gears you can change yourself on the new X2 tuners.

Ok you may be right about that, and he never did them for free. Maybe it was just for modifying an exhisting tune, and you had to pay shipping if you douldn't load the tune yourself. I know right after I got my tuner I was having problems with it throwing codes (damned oddball truck) he did alot of fixing modifying on them for me to get it working right, and since it was through e-mail he didn't charge anything. I was just shocked to see the price on a new tune when I was looking at Jusnes Modifieds. I guess I need to update the firmware on my tuner. I just looked on the SCT site and saw that there is an updated version forn the 1.10 I have, I'll see about fixing that tomorrow.

If you have previous tunes from him and all you want is a simple re-burn (Adjusting for an intake for example) he does it for free. You don't have to re-tune for an exhaust as far as I know. Also, if you have an X2 tuner, you can adjust for the new tires/gears yourself.

If you want a completely new tune...IE...you only originally got 87 performance 87 torque and 89 performance and now you want 93 performance, you will have to pay for a whole new tune.

Hope this helps some.

If you already have a bamachips tuner, then updated tunes are free for the original vehicle
