Any reason for this?
I have a 1991 4 litre ranger. Since it warmed up in the summer i've been noticing a terrible smell of rotting eggs whenenver i get up to speed on a highway. Any ideas what this could be?

Your catalytic converter(s) probably shot, and needs to be replaced.

its probably the cat. if its never been replaced, its the most likely culprit. when it comes to cat converters, you get what you pay for, thats the bottom line

Rotten egg smell (hydrogen sulfide) from the cat happens when the mixture is running consistently richer than stoichiometric.

probley nothing wrong with the converter, rather a fouled plug or maybe a bad wire.

something is dumping excessive fuel into the cat. shortly the cat will die. could be a multitude of things...bad injector, bad ingintion component, o2 sensor...

hows the idle, power and fuel milage?
