AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, in some pain
AIRBAGS SUCK!!!! Riding in my my buddies ranger tonight slid into a little rut, the bumper hit and the airbags deployed, didnt do any damage other than bust the zip ties that were holding on his fog light valence, how hard is it to replace the airbags and whats the cost for a 2000 4x4 3.0 v6 regular cab?
Also after tonight I just want to confirm that my 94 doesn't have airbags cause I've bounced through stuff way worse than what we did tonight and I don't want any surprises

and the computer, which is the most expensive part.
96 was the first year for Airbags in ALL trucks. some late 95's may have had some bag's in them.

I might as well say this now:
Airbags just don't go off with a light tap. You had to hit something pretty hard in order to get the bag to deploy.

under the cupholders on the floor right under the heat/ac control. pull the cup holder/console and unplug that big thing

Although I have owned a fair share of salvaged vehicles so I guess I can't say much. As long as it was fixed properly or good enough. lol If the price is right, I might get it. Whatever "it" may be.

I know a guy with a brand new 4runner. He was driving about 20 kmph in a gravel parking lot and the vehicle rocked back and forth a few times in pot holes and blew all his air bags. Messed him up pretty bad. Toyota said that it must have simulated a rollover and triggered the bags. Toyota did fix his truck for free tho.
Sory to thread jack
Glad you guys are ok.

P.S. I was going to make a thread about this. Thread jack x2. Does anyone take out their airbag sensor out while wheeling?
On 2nd Thought, I'm going to make a thread about this right now.

impossible. 94's had the square dash, no air bags. 95's got the new dash with driver side only. 96 had driver's side and passenger side became an option. 97-8 passenger side became standard.
it won't be the actual seat belt as the problem. the pretensioners are located on the seat mounted portion of the buckle. they will be the parts that need replaced. you can tell as they should have a black, accordion looking boot on them. when they fire, that boot will be compressed down.

I've never seen just the pre-tensioner available. its always came as a whole seatbelt.

x3. I t-boned a PT Cruiser with my 99 Ranger a few years back (I left a stop sign so couldn't have been more then 10 MPH) and my bags didn't go off. You must have been tearing that truck up to get those off. All the more props to you though!
