?? About the Sport model

My cousin who just recently got his license and has saved up a nice deposit wants the Ranger Sport so we went to some dealers and then checked dealer invitory through Ford's website, only to come up empty.
Apparently finding one in dealer stock is not gonna happen, so he may have to order it which a couple dealers said wait we have then coming in, but when asked about colors options etc thet were vague or replied we don't know what the specifis are wait and see it.
Anyone recently purchase one? He's hot for the Pioneer system

there are several around the dealers here. how many dealers did you go to?

the sport is no different than the edge package really.

the pioneer system is an option for any model i think

Went to two dealers physically surfed about 8 others, within his zip.
He wants Black 4X4 SC and he optioned it out, i wasn't really up on the Sport option specifically, i guess i'll talk to him about the Edge with the pioneer and brush up on it myself

oh maybe you mis understood. the Edge package was discontinued in 05? and the sport model took its place, there is no Ranger Edge now. Just the new Ford Edge which is some minivan / SUV

weird how there were no sport 4x4s at the dealer. has he looked at the FX4s? basically the same as the sport 4x4 but has chrome bumpers usually has the LS some added skid plates and a few other things but should beable to get the Pioneer system with it.

They still have the TREMOR package. It is available only on the Sport trim level. It has 510 watts of power and includes a 10" sub.

In 2004 or 2005, Ford began offering another Pioneer sound system. This one has 290 watts and includes a 6.5" sub mounted inside the floor console. It is available on every trim level except XL.

Both Pioneer systems are only available in SuperCabs.

Sharp Ford in Indy has 2 left in black both with 4.0, and they're 2006's.

Hey Rob just order one
it will arrive in a month
cherry pick the options list and Ford will custom build it!!
best price too - dealer loves a pre sold vehicle
you are still eligable for all rebates and discounts + dealer pays no interest on sitting unsold lot iron
got my from Buhler in Eatontown - Don Buhler sold it to me - turns out he was also a Theta Chi

The FX4 LVL II's around here don't stay on the lot very long. With Ford lowering the sticker price on the Ranger and all the crazy rebates and 0% financing going on, I'm sure they'll be more newer Rangers running around.

Zach, didn't you read in the other thread???????? Paying more than 20K for a fully loaded Sport is WAY OVER PRICED!!!!!! You can get the most expensive decked out Level II's for under 22K!!!!!! :roll my eyes at that thread:

When I was shopping for my truck, there was one Sport in all of Ohio that fit my criteria, and that was the one I bought. There were actually very few Sports of any degree in Ohio at the time. I originally wanted one in Yellow, but they would have had to have it shipped from West Virginy, and I didn't have the time (due to job) to wait for them to have it transported. Luckily the one I bought was ~20 mins from my residence.

I paid actual dealer invoice (not the doctord inflated one they show the public) minus the rebates, an additional discount for knowing the manager and seller, and half of their "hold back" was knocked off for the deal.

They got Sports all around here, thats all they have actuallty. They can be had for about 18-20K depending on rebates or bargaining ability. All 4x4's. It is hard to find a 4x2 on a lot in MN that isn't set up for work at the local Big wheel Rossi. I can go to a Dealership about a 5 miles from where I work and swing a dead cat and hit three of them. They can't Hardly give them away. Now Level II's in MN are almost always a Special order item, I really don't know why though they sell a ton of them here.

Video? LOL. That may be why prices are cheaper for the Sports in MN compared to Ohio, supply vs. demand?

Here's exactly what he's looking for right? Maybe you can use this for Bargaining purposes?

Whats the rebate require the buyer to do? I know most the time the rebate is only if you purchase through Dealer financing, and sometimes other stipulations.

I've never financed through a dealer and I have gotten every rebate offered. Rebates are just incentives to sell cars. Actually usually it is Rebate or a lower interest rate from Ford credit, not both. The little secret is usually the Rebate equals the money saved by lowere interest rates. And remember the dealer is offering that truck at 20K that is sticker price minus rebate, They have room to go down, I wouldn't Drive out of there for a nickel above 18K I also Don't trust Ford Credit, I trust my Credit Union, so unless it is an Iron Clad 0% rating I will always go with my Credit union.

Remember there job is to keep you in that chair, the longer you are their the more you'll cave, He says 20K, I'd say 18K out the door, If he goes to talk to "his manager" When he comes back he will counter offer, Say 18K or I walk. Then leave. I guarantee He will call you and tell you, that you have a deal, and if he Doesn't someone else will. One time My Mom did this and it took the salesman a Month to call her back, but when he Did, she knew she Owned him She Got Offered $2000 less than she did before and they settled for $1000. She bought a 28K Crown Victoria in 1997 for 21K. My mom is really good, She bought their expedition for 10K less than sticker. It stickers for 40K and she got it for 31K. (Rebates + bargaining)

I'm lucky, I have a Good friend that sold me all of my New cars, so I didn't have to fight or get screwed. He works a Toyota Dealer now though. He let me peak behind the curtain and see how car sales really are.

if you can get a low enough intrest rate and the rebate some times it can actually be less than taking the 0%
