5r55e Trans Question

I got a 97 xlt with 4.0L and the 5r55e Auto transmission. I took a trip up to Mt. Rainer over the 4th of July...

And on the way up to Paradise my wife and I heard a lil CLINK and then the truck started to not shift well in and out of gears. Not good when your 5000 feet up and 100 miles from any large town. Anyways it got us through and back home a few days later. I found a few shift selenoids were not responding right and triped my check engine light and got the codes... Anyways I bought 4 new selenoids and a valve body gaskets and a filter and gasket for the trans. When draining I came apon a part from the intermediate or the over drive brake band...

There was this part that I don't know what it is, where it goes or if there is something else missing...

I am pulling out the trans, hope thats not going to be a B____H. Any help on parts I am missing or could have F'd up. I am getting all 3 brake bands sense they are only 50 for all 3.

Any video's or picture's of this transmission. Anyone know if there are any assembly pictures online? How easy is it to rebuild this transmission?

Here's a link to a pretty nice diagram of the A4LD/4R44E/4R55E/5R55E Transmissions and a place to buy the parts if you need them.
https://www.wittrans.com/Schematic.aspx?Transmission=A4LD/4R44E/4R55E/5R55E&Schematic=2

Also I don't know if I'll get in trouble for posting this link, but it is a very helpful how to at disassembling a 4R55E (which is pretty much the same thing as the 5R55E minus the one gear) it should be assembled very similar.

That part I believe is for adjusting the band and holding the band. Here's a pic of how the band sits in the transmission and how that parts sits in there. I know the pic isn't the exact same transmission, but the physics are the same.
