35's and body lift UPDATE PICS added
Some people say when I do something I do it big. Hey I am 6 foot 7 so I guess thats just me. So buying tires was no different. Well I have 5 35x12.5x15's in my shed and I am ordering a body lift and AAL's this afternoon. Any advise and experiences welcomed. Some think 35's wont fit with a body lift I plan on cranking the T-bars as needed and leveling it out with the AAL's in the rear. I don't think I will have any problems with the rear but the front might be tuff. I except the fact that my gas mileage will be somewhere around crap and crappy. Thats why I drive my focus to work everyday.

Oh they are BFG MT's by the way. Also I got the tires already mounted on black steel rock crawler wheels 15x10, got them from Jey Clegg 034x4. Wheels have 3.75 inches of BS. I was orignally planning on buying 33x10.5 BFG MT's and get a lift somewhere down the road, but when I saw Jeys 35 for sale 5 tires plus 5 wheels for the price I was going to pay for 4 33x10.5 just tires my lift plans got moved way up. So I have 4 15x8 american eagle alloy wheels in my basement that I was going to use with the 33x10.5 I was going to buy. they have a little less BS like 3.25 or 3.5 about a half inch or so less then the rock crawler wheels I got from Jey . I was wonder I know lots of people put 12.5 tires on 8 inch wheels would this be worth a try to put the 35x12.5 on my america eagle alloy 15x8 wheels. The eagle alloys are crome and shiny and the crawler wheels are black so if they would fit I would prefer to use the eagle alloys, I am assumeing the eagle alloys are lighter then the crawler wheels another reason I would prefer to use the eagle alloys.

BL + gap gaurds + shift extend + AAL = $335 from summit.
I told him I saw them on another site for less and he acted like ok if you say so and I felt like I could have pretty much named my own price. Summit Rocks ! Should be at my house wednesdayish.

no i dont mean suspension lift, i meant springs shocks and suspension components so that they add a bit of strength... well not even springs shocks maybe longer travel to help with flexing and give a longer cycle to your suspension.. just beef it up if your gonna wheel it rough... becasue i know some people with just a body lift and they beat the **** out of their suspension... and perhaps when your buddy is working on it if you can spare the cash or beer or whatever maybe he can do a little look over of your stuff. balljoints, wheel bearings, im not sure but perhaps you might need some larger brake components just the little stuff so your safe! thats whats really important...... you dont need gap guards lol just go to home depot and buy some plastic and paint it black... and the shifter extesion isnt a must either, i remember when i had my body lift the shifter moved down 3 inches and i loved it.. actually i liked it better then stock.. but the steering is where its at, i had binding and the power steering was way effed up.. but i have an old truck so.. who knows....

I don't think I wheel it too rough, I like it a little rough but not too rough. While we are there looking around and wrenchin on it my buddy will eye ball just about everything to make sure everything is up to snuff. I would like to get rancho's adjustablie shocks like Tom Tbarcya's set up with the air compressor control in the cab and some James Duff trac bars, but the BL, AAL and 35 will be a HUGE improvement over what I have now and that will be good enough for a long while. Plus I think the next project is some work on my wifes mustang.

So what that truck got ? Is that 35's with just a BL ? They look like they fit good.
I don't mind trimming a little, like I said my buddy is a FORD tech and he has done this before soeven if I have to trim the fender a little he can have a body work guy roll the edges or what ever we need to do.

My 33s rubbed like CRAZY when I was off-roading, not even anything really extreme. If y'all remember Jey only got his to stop rubbing with prerunner fenders. If you don't actually GET front glass, thats ALOT of trimming! And does anyone else remember how often Jey broke stuff on his truck? I know the wheeling he did was pretty hard stuff, but lord knows cramming huge tires onto stock suspension probably didn't help the problem. Anyways, be careful with that, and be ready to toss a little bit more money at it if you have to.

I broke **** cuz i took ford's IFS through hell and back...and there is no way to "upgrade" any of the parts that broke on my truck. Except by replacing it with a better suspension like I am doing. Just get an alignment when u put the 35's on there and Check the balljoints and hub-bearings for play regularly!!!

I am seeing 2 stories here people breaking stuff left and right and people with no problems If I fall somewhere inbetween I will be happy.

dont forget the most important part
your going to HAVE to re-gear if you want to run 35's!!!
your truck will dring gas and have no power with the 3.55's
oh i see you have a 4.10, thats still not enough. how did you get a xlt 4x4 with 4.10's?
last i knew ford never put 4.10's in 4x4 rangers

the 05 3L 4x4 i test drove at ford last month had 4.10s. i think most on the lot did as well.
your truck is going to look badass. you gotta climb a tire like jay did to prove your stuff. And yes, Brian, BlkTremor02, bumped up to 4.88s with his 35 on his 3l, although you have a 4l, he has a supercharger, so going up to 4.56 or 4.88 will be a good investment as well. Oh and those rancho shocks are awesome, we played with them last weekend at 4WP and we had a killer deal, just wish i had the money on me to buy them, we're talkin under $400 for all 4 shocks and the whole compresor and line kit.

Its not my DD to it can drink all the gas it needs. I plan on getting it lifted and seeing how bad it slows down. If its a real dog and I need to rear gear I am thinking about 4.88's, and well while I am in there maybe the LS wont go back in, but thats another story for another day.
