2024 Ranger is a Ford Failure
2024 Ranger is a Ford Failure(...and so is Ford's customer service) I recently purchased a brand new 2024 Ranger (78 mi), but it completely self-destructed in only 6 days (327 mi). For no apparent reason, on my commute home, the "low oil pressure" indicator lit up, then the "check engine" light, then I heard a rattle in the engine. I stopped driving it and had it towed back to the dealership. "Catastrophic engine failure." Metal everywhere in the engine and oil filter. Having lost complete faith in the reliability vehicle, I inquired into either a return or trade of the still-new Ranger, but neither the dealership nor Ford Corporate entered either option. The only solution offered was to completely replace the engine -- with no explanation as to why the first engine completely failed -- which took a month. After numerous calls and written communication, no concern was shown for my inconvenience, loss of confidence in Ford, or loss of resale value of the brand new vehicle that completely died at no fault of my own. Ford would not even extend the warranty to demonstrate their confidence in the lemon and show goodwill to a returning customer. I'm stuck with a truck that I cannot trust for anything, and Ford does not care. Why would I ever buy a Ford again? I will recommend that nobody else does. I wouldn't want my family, friends, or coworkers to experience what I have and be treated this way by a company to which they just committed tens of thousands of dollars.

There are many 2024 owners on the Ranger 6G website that love their Rangers. Your engine is the same one use in the 2019 to 2023 Rangers. I have not heard of any significant number of failures with those engines. In fact, they seem to be very durable.
Sorry you ended up being the one that had this kind of failure. It is very possible there are others that have had a problem, but I do not think it is anywhere near a common issue. No vehicle manufacturer is 100% perfect and sometimes mechanical issues can pop up. Usually, it is not as catastrophic as yours but is does happen with any brand.
I still plan to buy a new Ranger in 2025 and just hope no serious issues occur. Here's hoping your Ranger will end up being the best vehicle you have ever owned now that you have had the engine replaced.
