Actually I am Wrong, The article was from 1992. Here is what Cummins says about Ford:

http://www.cummins.com/cmi/content.j...menuIndex=3#Q1

"Does Ford own Cummins?
No, Ford does not own any part of Cummins Inc "

I really like the new SDs as well. I would have gotten one, but I wasn't going to spend another $10k...lol. 150 is plenty big enough for me and I'm 6'8". Only reason I could see for needing an SD is if you have to pull a crap load on a regular basis. Also all the new diesel emissions bs I wouldn't want to deal with

You can have the flame thrower option, I dont want it, specially if Ford puts it on, thats just bad news. I've heard enough about fords catching on fire. The only thing I would want that ford makes is the Ranger (98-03) and the mustang (99-04). I'll go back to dodge if I want a full size truck.......other than the weak auto tranny, i've never heard dodge having any big problems, specially not fires.

Dodge has an exclusive contract on Cummins B series engines that go in their trucks.......unless Cummins designs another engine to put in the SD's, they are not allowed by contract....

That doesn't keep me from putting a Cummins B series in the Ford of my choice!

EDIT: Speaking of which the plans are already set... I'm just waiting to get hired at this construction job I was offered, once I am, expect a full build thread within a year, maybe a progress build thread by the end of summer!

no it doesn't........they do make kits to adapt a B series Cummins in a SD.......IF you want to spend the $5,000 for the kit + another $5,000 for an engine, + another couple grand for a tranny/transfercase + another couple grand for all the wiring and harness........

I like the new SD's alot, the front grill and headlights just look tough...Saw one on the expressway a few weeks ago and damn was it nice...It was just a regular XLT.

The interior on those trucks is soooo much nicer than the other brands too.
