1st Post... Looking to buy an 2001, reg cab 2.3l 5sp XL 130K mile truck for my sons first vehicle. Want him to "ride a bike" learn a stick young and he'll know how to forever...

I had a 91 4.0 Auto as my first real NEW vehicle to me and I loved it.

We test drove the truck, it's basic, even with crank windows :) , but it's quiet and drives nice.

Basically asking for anything I should be aware of. I believe this is a belt driven non interference engine, so aside from changing the belt as a "preventative" measure, is there anything else I should be aware of?

I haven't personally witnessed many, but I do know some had an issue with the 5speed locking into a gear? Naturally, we'll bleed the new fluid through the brakes, and validate normal maintenance since it has 130K miles, but any other things to be aware of?
