2000 Ranger 3.0

What is a recommended aftermarket muffler? Magnaflow, Flowmaster, etc. Looking for a deep mellow tone not anything high pitched.

Well it's a v6 and any muffler will sound raspy at high rpms.

That being said, having personally heard many mufflers on the 3.0, I prefer the Flowmaster 40 series. The Magnaflow was just too mellow....sounded good but was just too mellow and now as deep sounding at the Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 or Super 44.

x2. You could get this or a thrush welded muffler. They are pretty much the same sound wise but the flowmaster is more durable.

I've been running a flo-pro an di personally like the sound it makes on my 3.0 and it keeps getting better with age at idle it sounds like my grandfathers 5.4 it gets a little raspy at high rpms but no where near as bad as the flow masters i added some ebay headers later and it got even better.

All aftermarket mufflers are universal unless they are direct replacements.

its designed to cancel that raspy sound and it does a pretty good job imo.

I put a Magnaflow on in July, love the sound and no resonance in the cab.

So I put on the Magna flow today. it sounds good hearing from the outside.. but you cant hear squat when your in the truck. I had magnaflow single out with a dual stainless steal tip. I don't know I think should with the flowmastr people.

You have to go with what you like.I just don't like resonance in the cab.
