1988 4x4 question

Ford Ranger had 3 generations
1st 1983 to 1992
2nd 1993 to 1997
3rd 1998 to 2012
But there was a "facelift" in 1989, so some call that Gen 1.5, 1989-1992, but it was mechanically the same as 1983-1988
1983 to 1988 cabs would for sure be the same, you need to match regular cab or extended cab, the 4x4 part doesn't matter
LMC Truck has Ranger body parts: Truck Parts & Truck Accessories for Chevy, GMC, Ford & Dodge Trucks
If you select
Ford
Ranger
1983-2011
Then look at the body parts it does show gen 1.5 having different parts for lower door patches, so body lines on cab may be different from 1989 to 1992

Pretty much complete disassembly of the body
Pull the bed(6 bolts, 3 screws) and hood(4 bolts), then front fenders and inner fenders
Pull the doors
Pull out the seats
Pull windshield(optional), if its not broken, if it is try to get most of it out, makes cab ligher
'Find and disconnect all wiring going thru the firewall from engine side, take LOTS of PICTURES, they are FREE, lol.
Pull up carpet and find and disconnect any thru floor pan wiring
Pull out speedo cable and E-brake cable
Inside of cab wiring and dash are up to you and what the new cab has and what year it is
Pull heater box?
Takes a bit of labour
