1986 Ranger wiper motor

1986 Ranger wiper motor
So I was wondering if anyone knew why my newly installed wiper motor has power still but won't move the windshield wipers anymore. It worked before I hooked it up to the windshield wipers and worked the first time when I put the two together but when I needed it, its like it stopped working.
It seems like only the first click-up has a solenoid that works and the next two just have constant power. Did I wire it in wrong or should I just get one that already has the connector already on it?
My guess is that the motor is burnt out now and I have to get a new one or is this a common problem with the 86 rangers?
If anyone has any suggestions or knowledge, I am all ears.

Welcome to the forum
I don't have older than 1993 wiper diagrams
Does 1986 use a wiper switch on the dash or the Multi-function switch(turn signal stalk)?
"Newly" installed wiper motor, does that mean used or "new" motor?
Have a look here: https://www.garysgaragemahal.com/windshield-wipers.html
Ford usually used the same system in Rangers as well

So this one uses the multi-function switch. After reading the windshield wiper article that you linked. The first level is on a delayed system, then the next two are constant wiper action but level 3 is faster than level 2.
Well, the wiper motor was in the pickup when I bought it and it looked as if it had never been used. Like I still needed to wire it into the old wires. That's the best description I can give you but it worked after I wired it in, and then also worked when the wipers were hooked up to the wiper motor.
