'07 XLT SCAB-TOTALLED
My Ranger was determined totalled by insurance company. Estimate for repairs $5500!
Insurance offered $11,900 they keep or $8,900 and I keep as salvaged!
My quess is that parts are hard to get, but seems like they've made a fair offer, although, I wanted it fixed with only 105K miles.
My question is does anyone know what model years are parts interchangeable for 07 XLT SCAB?

The 2007 Ranger is going to be issued a "Salvage" Title, in either case, if you plan on fixing it and then driving it "until the wheels fall off" then no big deal, if you plan on selling it at some point then having a salvage or rebuilt title lowers the price quite a bit
And check your local Laws on Rebuilding "totalled" vehicles, it may need to pass an inspection, that YOU have to pay for, in order to get it registered again
Make a counter offer, say $9,200 and you keep the Ranger
If insurance company keeps the wrecked Ranger it just goes to an auction and wreckers bid in it so they do not know how much they will get for it, they are assuming $3,000, but they could get $3,500 or even $4,000..............or they may only get $2,000 or $2,500
It's an unknown, your counter offer is cash in hand
If your engine/trans is good then look if there are any "mechanics specials" with bad engine or trans
$5,500 is not alot for body damage, alot/most of it is labor not parts and PAINT is expensive
FRAME is the BIG DEAL, if its bent/tweaked then walk away and take the cash
car-part.com
is a good place to see what parts are going for
