I would honestly go with the KC Daylighters. I remember correctly that I paid 120 shipped for the 6 inch 100 watt black ones. The come with a 23 year warranty for covers and all. Talk to Christian about the gentlemen from KC that I have dealt with on a few occasions and he will hook you up. I would give his name but not sure if Christian would approve, just ask him to be sure.

comparing a hella 4000 to a cheaper KC is like comparing an excursion to a pinto. perhaps the 150w KCs were brighter than the 55w hella 500s, possilby due to comparing 150w to 55w. you cant use someones opinion of 2 completely different products as proof that KC is better......... how long as KC been around? how many car manufacturers use KC to make all their headlights? how much experience does KC have in the real world, in all conditions, around the world? i have nothing against KC but again you claim they are way better than hella because.........

KCs also come with a 23 year warranty as stated before, other then a broken lens that is caused by something other then a defect its covered. By no means trying to bash Hella just stating opinions as Zach is that is all.

Bob I agree with both you and Zach on this one, I have dealt with only the Hella 500s and think that the KC is a better product when compared to a Daylighter that is all. I know that is not what Marcos is looking for in this post just giving him all the options ya know. Also the Daylighter is only a 6 inch light that Zach and I have and the 4000 is a 8-9 inch if I am correct in saying.

some Hella 4000 Cool Blue lights would look great on LIL BLUE

to get bulbs and other items warranteed by KC you either have to pay up front for a replacement or send in your broken item and wait for return
your choice 1 or two week wait

In my opinion, and I have only ever run two brands of offroad lights. PIAA and KC...

I just really love the KC brand. Are they better than Hella? I don't actually know that information.

All I know is that I am extremely happy with my KC's... I have personally bought over 30 of them, and have yet to have one problem with a single one of them. The ones on my ranger used to get used all the time. I haven't used them in a while, as my ranger has been out of commission for a little while. The ones on the camo truck will be used extensively in the near future.

I like to buy American whenever possible(except for electronics, cuz i <3 sony)...

KC is a great American brand. They have an excellent warranty(23 years), and I personally know some of the staff over there, and they are above average good people.

There is no other offroad light company I would want to give my money to. Their lights have always been more than adequate for my needs, a good price, with the backup of a 23 year warranty.

Whenever you plan to buy them, though. Go through a retailer. They will give you better deals than trying to wheel and deal with KC directly. My situation is a little different, as you should see the ranger and possibly the f250 in their upcoming catalog.

Here is the best place to order your KC Lights. Our vendor, Charles: https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...splay.php?f=56

explain how its is being compared to a "cheaper" KC.......from what I am looking at on hella's site the 4000 is a 55wat bulb. damn near all of KC's products out perform that by a long shot.

perhaps the 150w KCs were brighter than the 55w hella 500s, possilby due to comparing 150w to 55w.
and i beleave phils lights where 130w from what i remeber. or 100W...

you cant use someones opinion of 2 completely different products as proof that KC is better.........
sure i can i just did watch me now

how long as KC been around?
here:
The most recognized and asked for name in auxiliary lighting since 1970
how many car manufacturers use KC to make all their headlights?
i beleave harely davison[sp?] and jeep has a few times.

how much experience does KC have in the real world, in all conditions, around the world?
go start reading. they have been in the offroad racing for years.... http://www.kchilites.com/rally.aspx just start reading the site...

i have nothing against KC but again you claim they are way better than hella because.........
for one the contrution just putting the two lamps next to each other the KC makes the Hella look like a play toy.

all the hella's i have seen rust like a ***** very fast. KC's arnt as bad and if they do rust....guess what 23 year warrenty on that..just send them back.

bulb burn out COVERED with warrenty. KC's OUTSTANDING customer service alone is excilent.

the light difference they throw compared to a hella is far greater.

and guess what (this one is for you) just cause i sayed so

and if he wants KC's "rally" light here ya go....have fun

http://www.kchilites.com/store/8-Sta...m-P364C42.aspx and yes you can buy them cheaper at places like summitracing.com

i agree 99% with that C sayed. about the lights and everything except for buying them from charles. dont get me wrong charles is a great guy i have bought stuff from him but Summitracing.com has his prices beat right now but if he price matches then hell ya buy them from him!!!!!!!!!

we arent talking about bulbs here kiddo, bulbs are all the same, we are talking about lens design.... i think you really are confused, because a light has a more powerful bulb its better? this must be the "KC theory"

sure i can i just did watch me now
here again i think youre confused as to what the definition of proof is. I say Hellas are better, and my brother says so too, so now Hella is the best!! muhuhahaha

Hella has been making lights since 1899, and makes OEM headlights for VW, Porsche, AUDI, Mercedes

go start reading. they have been in the offroad racing for years...
how many years zach? 30? go to the rally races and tell me how many KC lights are on the cars and how many Hella lights there are

for one the contrution just putting the two lamps next to each other the KC makes the Hella look like a play toy.
if youre comparing a Stainless steel 7 inch light to a hella 500, then i would agree, but to an HID Rallye 4000?? i think youre smoking something....

all the hella's i have seen rust like a ***** very fast. KC's arnt as bad and if they do rust....guess what 23 year warrenty on that..just send them back.
show me one. this is a strange phenomenon since all of Hellas housings are plastic or aluminum......... so show us a rusted one and didnt someone just say you have to pay up front for a replacement with KC and get the money back? that doesnt sound like you just send it back.....

the light difference they throw compared to a hella is far greater.
still sounds like someone is talking out of their lets see some numbers!! talk is cheap, show me some numbers and ill believe you, seriously!

My $0.02: I shopped KC, Hella, and PIAA. KC seemed like the best value at the end of the day. A set of the KC slimlites will run you about $140 retail. That includes mounting hardware, stone guards, and wiring harnesses. A set of the older Daylighter model will cost you even less. Meanwhile the Hella 4000's will set you back somewhere around $100 each.. plus stone guards, plus wiring harnesses.. Now the 500 series Hellas are even cheaper still, but from all I've been able to see or hear, they are inferior to both KC products, most especially because of the plastic housings. KC's product seemed like the perfect fit for me.. and so far I've been delighted by them.

In my view Hella 500 < KC Daylighter < KC Slimlite < Hella 4000

And wouldn't you know that's how they are priced too!

i agree with you colin but again comparing daylights to Rallye 4000s really isnt fair. and i agree that the 500s are at best an entry level light, but for the price its not bad for the engineering you get with Hella. Hella has a HUGE lineup of lights other than the 500 and the 4000, my personal favorite is the Rallye 1000 (not the FF1000), which you cannot buy in the US unless you get the black magic.....
