Trans Out, Again...

Replaced the clutch last November. Heard a very subtle noise Sunday that sounded like the pilot or throw-out bearing. Had trans dropped in a couple hours thanks to help with a buddy who was around to help last time I had to drop the trans. A few pics below.

5.5ft long from bellhousing to t-case output . . . sure helps having a truck high enough to crawl under! I can sit up on my *** in the trans tunnel to work on the flywheel and pressure plate, lol. Not bad for a stock height truck.

Throw-out bearing separated:

Needles fell out instantly. Was dry as a bone and mild heat marks!

South Bend Kevlar Pilot Bushing installed.

Picking up the Ford throw out tomorrow morning, $200 flippin dollars, what a joke. Don`t have much of a choice though.

Got my muffler delete pipe in in while doing the trans work too thanks to my buddy. Fired it up quickly and wow, a lot louder and more whistle, love it. Will get a video of it in the next day or so.

Will update this with more pics and progress.

Nice truck I've been looking for a 7.3 PSD 6spd around here with decent miles and good shape. No luck for the past two years. I guess I'll have to get a 6.4 or 6.7.

Yep, ZF-6 to be specific.

Door has been like that since I bought it, that picture makes it look a lot more noticeable/worse than it is. Guy before me was in 2wd with his horse trailer in the snow, *** kicked over and bounced off his coral fence post. Going to find a replacement door one day.

No whistle contest, I like mine the way it is, couldn't live with the 6.0 whistle with all the driving I do, lol. I'll have you an all out "who's louder contest" with my work truck though . . .

She's a roaring diesel burning ricer crusher once again, and better than ever!

New Ford brand throw out bearing makes the clutch feel 100000x better than it was, feels like a stock clutch again, not a grabby, chattering nuisance. Sealed up the shifter with some RTV and even with the truck being 100% straight piped, is quieter (inside) than before, how awesome?
