Thanks! it didnt turn out to bad for me kinda learning as i went. It deffently could be better but i think i will be happy with it.
Ran out of paint, i was about half a can short of getting the second coat done. So now its going to have to sit out in the rain for the next 3 days. I am going to pick some more paint up and im still up in the air on weither or not i want to clear coat it. what do you guys think clear it or not? and if so what type of finish? I have flat black paint on it and i dont want it to be real glossy so what would you recomend?

I got the top part of the bumper painted and cleared today, going to flip it tommorrow and do the rest. We had a bad storm here sunday night so im spending a lot of time cutting up trees instead of working on the bumper. Im going to have to take the skid plate off sand it down and repaint it because i didnt clear it before i put it on. Stupid mistake.

ITS ON THE TRUCK! Finally got some time and with the help of my gf and the loader tractor we got the bed off and the bumper on and then the bed back on today. still have to do the wireing for the lights but i havent gotten the relays and everything to start my wireing projects yet. The bad news is that my tailgate slightly rest on it when someone is sitting on the tail gate and the bottom of the license plate barly makes contact with the edge of the bumper but with a little triming it will be ok. Im pretty happy with the way it turned out and it was a great learning experience.
Now on to the pics.

probably nothing except trip the license plate a little with a dremel. my tailgate is not in real good shape and im not even sure if its actually hitting or not. if it is then it is just on one side towards the license plate. if it starts marking the tailgate or the bumper then i guess i will have to do something.

Thanks, its so dry here i was going to clean it but as soon as i would leave my house the gravel road would cover it again.
I think i will just buy one, no more building things for a little bit. I spent two years with out a way to pull a trailer so it will be nice now that i can actually do it.

Sorry i have been on vacation and didnt have the demensions with me.
The flat plate for the skid is 26.5x19.5 inches, for the verticle parts i got a rectangle and cut it diagonly so the demension of that was 8.5x17.5 inches and when i cut it it made the cut side 19.5 inches. And then i had an 18x2 inch piece that i mounted on top of the verticle piece to sit flat against the frame. to mount it is put it up there and clamped it on and then drilled pilot holes through the mounting plates on the skid and through the frame. then i drilled half inch holes int he skid using the pilot holes and i drilled the correct size hole in the frame to use a 1/2 tap in. so i taped the holes in the frame to accept half in bolts and used loctite to hold the bolts. when i took it back off to paint i wanted to use lock washers but didnt have any so i stuck with loctite.
Sorry for the long explination, if you need any thing cleared up let me know.
now i wish i would have have done some more angles with it so the the vertilce pieces werent so tall and it would have been like verticle-45-flat but i dont know if i had enough room to make it work with radiator.
