Corners

So as most of you know, I painted my corners a sexy DSG the other night and when I went to seal them of course I was in a rush and ended up putting a little too much silicone on one of them. It doesn't really bother me that much but I just want to know what you guys think of it. If it looks that terrible I can easily pop it back open and redo it.

The spot I keep picturing the most is the upper right hand corner. That's really the only place that has too much silicone.

I take it that you don't think it has too much silicone?

Just redo it with black silicone if you're not happy

Painting the lens edge does 2 things. It eliminates the whitish "halo effect" around the corner and it hides the sealant groove. I painted mine from the inside for durability and to make it match the headlights better. These are the original pics from 2005 but they look the same today.

I say mix or match the colors anyway you want. I just think it looks better when the rim is painted vs clear.

Can't you just paint the housing dsg also or are you thinking it will not seal?

I probably could. But I just went ahead and resealed it and it looks good I think. Personally I'm not a fan of the paint ring. I kinda like my non-painted ring.
