My coilover swap has begun!!!!

As some of you know, im Superlifted and i hate Torsion Bars. I decided today was a good day to call up RCD and buy some hardware to do the swap. I got everything i need on order and im excited.

My coilover swap is now OFFICIALLY in PROGRESS.

Here is a little bit of info on what i ordered here:

Driver Side:
Upper 20-52498-9
Lower 20-52498-11
2 Gussets 20-52498-17
Spacers 20-833167

Passenger Side:
Upper 20-52498-9
Lower 20-52498-12
2 Gussets 20-52498-17
Spacers 20-833167

Cost me about 185 bucks for all of the RCD stuff.

Now its time to order me some 12" 750# hypercoils and Fox Shocks.

And here is the specs of the Shocks ill be getting:

The 2.0x6.5 shock from Fox:

Shock Travel: 6.50"
Extended Length: 19.35"
Collasped Length: 12.85"
Shaft size is: 5/8"
Fox Part #: 980-99-001A

Sounds good man! You have to have a superlift to do this?? Id like to have the plush ride of coils rather than the torsion bars. Cant wait to see it done!

If you get coils that are 4" shorter I bet it would work stock.

Guess not, but you will have to strengthen that upper shock mount. I can guarantee you it isn't rated to carry the weight of the truck.

I know, thats why i ordered the gussets to weld on to the upper mount. They are like 3 bucks each

Sorry, changed tabs to gussets on my parts listings up there so i dont confuse anyone!

Diddo!

$185 for parts is pretty cheap. if you dont mind me asking how much did the coilovers run you, shocks and coils?

Oh, and what about control arms (if that is what they are called for ifs), i didnt see them on your list, but they are part of the RCD kit.

As far as im concerned, all i need are those brackets that I supplied part numbers for. No other parts are needed.

Coils are gonna run me about 135 bucks and the Fox Shocks will run me about 420 bucks all shipped. So im lookin to spend about another 555 dollars just to finish this swap!! no big deal!

So you dont need these (in the red circles)? Sorry, I'm not too familiar with the RCD kit.

where do those connect to? But the people who have done the conversion on their explorers have said NOTHING about those circled parts!

As far as the "Links" that connect to the LCA's I have read nothing about those. I think that this mod, could be very insightful to those who have a Superlift that want to get rid of torsion bars. The upper shock mount does need to be beefed up, hence the reason for the shock gusset's, that come "NORMALLY" with the RCD 5.5 lift kit for the Fourwheel drive lift kit. Basically all you are doing is taking away the torsion bars, and retaining the weight of the vehicle with the coilover setup. I don't see the need for those links, being that the LCA's are fixed via the two mounting bolts and the diff brackets for the Superlift kit bolt into the stock location. Why would you need them. Anyone have any idea's? Also here is the link that we and Integra have been reading over and over again.
