Wrecked ft. Valance.. need help!
I hit a truck in the parking lot the other day, and I wrecked up my front lower valance on my 2004 Ford Ranger Edge.
So.. I need a new one! A local body shop's estimate was about $400 to repair it, and about $680 to replace it! I'd like to replace or repair it for as little money as possible.
I found a local junkyard that said they could order one for me for $65 unpainted. If I got it painted (how much would that cost?), how easy it is to remove the old one and install the new one? Is it just bolt on? I know I'd have to transfer the foglights n all, but is that pretty easy?
Also can anyone help me locate one online? Again it's the Front Lower Valance Panel, the part with the square foglight holes for the 2004 Ford Ranger Edge.
Thanks a bunch guys! :)

if you take the bumper off (4 large 3/4" bolts) you can then locate all the screws holding the vallance on. There is about 10-12 of them and they are pretty small. I say get a new vallance unpainted and have it line-x's (they can do it the color of your truck). Im sure you can install it yourself its not hard at all. good luck
i want mine line-xed cause its all scratched

Okay I got it off pretty easily. The bolts were 8mm, and probably about 8 to 10 of them. I also took all the foglight assembly and stuff off.
I'd LOVE to keep the same valance if I could - I'll look into Line-x. What would that look like? I have a superliner (black) sprayed in my bed - would it look like that?? I really don't want it to look bad, and my dad wouldn't allow it unless he agrees it would look okay. I'll probably just have to pay for it to be repaired. There's some deep scratches and some cracks, one pretty big. There's also lots of red paint on it.
Another question - do I HAVE to get a 2004 Edge Valance? Can I get a different year? I still want to have my foglights, so will the square-type ones fit on other years?
Thanks

I'll probably go back to the body shop today and ask some more questions. I'll ask how much they would charge JUST to fix the valance (no de-installation or installation), and how much they would charge for paint if I brought them a new valance.

Well I fixed the valance, and then took it through some mud
I picked the part up this afternoon from the body shop that ordered it for me. With overnight shipping, I couldn't be more satisfied! It looked perfect - so clean, and even came with new foglights and foglight bulbs! Installation was a breeze. Here's some before and after pics, and some pics of the mud. Almost got stuck too... mud was flying down the street for almost the whole way back home! :)
