Westin Safari light bar

I know tons of you guys have them. Im wondering how the fit is? I went and looked at them and some 4X4 shop in town and the guy told me I might have to cut notches out of my bumpter to fit it. Is this true ? I told the guy Ive never heard of anyone doing that and he said something along the lines of "TRUST ME IM THE EXPERT IVE DONE THIS 1000 TIMES" I really love the look of that bar but I will absolutely NOT be cutting into my bumpers to make it fit. Besides, that guy was a real *** and his price was way more expensive than anywhere else so Im definitly not getting it from him. Can anyone fill me in on this ?

Front plate will fit fine still. My ranger has the front plate holder and it is centered in the bar. You'll be fine.

Oh, and about cutting the bumper, my safari bar barely touches the bottom of my front bumper. Trim it if you want, but its not required. That guy you talked to sucks.

Get the bull bar!!! It looks alot more beefy!!! Instead of 2 inch tubing like the safari bar has, the bull bar has 2.5 inch tubing. Those Hella's are a little over 6 inches and you can see the plate just fine.

It will touch the bottom of the bumper but there is no need for trimming. Just close the gap up on your bumper aka bumper mod and the issue will go away. Thats what I had to do.

Like Larson said, it won't touch, or rub. And with the license plate bracket, I had two 6" fog lights installed, of which nothing touched the bracket or the valence.

Piece of cake, my friend.

Besides, check out my avatar.....it doesn't touch.

Mind you, when I had it first installed, the guys that put it on had it right tight to the valence. After I had the valence repainted, I had adjusted the brackets to make sure that wouldn't happen again.

I had a safari bar on my 01 and hated that pointless curb catcher, it hung down as low as a plow carriage, and you couldn't hit anything with it becasue it wasn't stong at all (Not to mention I had mine painted bright Island blue to match my truck) I bought it for a Light mount, but I say 6 in lights look Kick a$$ behind the grill and they are nice and out of the way.

Only pic I could fing with my 6" lights behind my grill (Also my biilet grill which lasted 6 months, Not snow friendly unless you want to polish it every day!)

Only pic I could find with the lights on: (edit) the lights aren't on, just the glow of the runnning lights I put in the grill, it looked killer at night)

I got it from exotictruck-auto, http://stores.ebay.com/Exotic-Truck-and-Auto-Gear

I did a search for "safari" so they might not have any right now. It was about $115 shipped, had to check my back messages for that one.

edit: this is close
