Two Tone Powerdome?

I've got a '01 Powerdome that is going in for paint before too long. Only thing is, I'm torn between getting it done in a solid maroon or a two-tone with some gray on the raised part of the hood. I've seen zabeard's and RazorsEDGE's hoods and like them a lot. But I'm thinking that a little narrower on the second color might look better on my truck since I already have the two-tone paint.

What do you guys think? Here's a pic of my truck as it sits now.

I think your truck looks great as is. If you did the 2 tone it would look better with a billet grill and lose the deflector.

Are you going to paint the stretched "tear-drop" in the center? AND you should find a way to paint the grill that same color and lose that bug shield. I think it'd look alright. Here's mine

If I do the second color, it would be the same color as the lower part of my truck. I'm not sure on how I'd have it done though. I like the way you have yours, but I'm thinking it might be too much for mine since it's got an accent color already. I was thinking about leaving the edges and the first part of the raised portion where it goes vertical maroon along with the inner "Tear Drop" as you call it. Just the highest, flat part of the hood would have the gray accent color.

As far as the grille goes, I'm going to dremel out the horozontal part and put the OEM honeycomb black behind it. Very much like yours is now, but I'd leave the chrome as it is.

And the bug shield is as good as gone once the new hood goes on.

Never thought of doing it like that. That would look real good on your truck, it wouldn't have TOO much DSG on it, and it'd be kind of original.

Yeah you gotta do it. Since you're truck is already 2-tone I think it would flow really well.

Don't really care for it that much. It would look good but I'd prefer the one color. But it's your choice and you have to live with it so choose wisely.

I really think your truck looks awesome now! Personally I like the 2 tone on the hood, but I don't know how it would go with the 2 tone you have now....

Leave it one color (Less out of pocket cost) Plus your truck looks great the way it is now. Did you find some one in Seattle to paint your hood?

Yeah, I found a shop right down the hill from me that'll do the whole thing for $425. That's bodywork (one edge of the hood is goobered up some) and the two tone paint. I talked to the guy for awhile and got him to come down from close to $600. Course this is all gonna be under the table to save sales tax as well.

Thanks for trying to help with your contacts up here, they were just way too much for what I was willing to pay or too far away.

Not to hijack, but... I want to get my powerdome done two tone. Only I want it to be yellow in the center. I think that'd be sweet.

If anyone two tones the PowerDome, it should only be that center spike that gets the paint.
