Search for the perfect toolbox.

Ok, I'm thinking of getting a toolbox. My last box was a DeeZee black diamond plate.

On my old truck:

I liked how it looked, but would have prefered something that was lower profile. Plus I would prefer something that utilized the full truck bed depth and didn't sit like 6 inches above bed floor.

My wish list in a toolbox:
  • Prefer black diamondplate
  • Lowest profile possible
  • Uses full depth of truck bed.
  • is lockable

Anybody know of a perfect box that matches the above?

it is now.. i painted it...

and you can buy it black, too, smart-a...

i got it for cheap, cuz some guy bought it for his ranger, then sold his ranger 3 weeks later and took the toolbox back to the shop..

i only paid $200 for it... i think it retails in the $350 range..

me and dave(wvedge2001) also added an extra lock to it(via a hinge and lock)

Do the latches still work on it? My old box started to become a pain to open, but I think I probably bent somethin. $350 is a little steep. The Deezee is $220 retail @ the Tractor Supply Co.

I just wish they made a "ranger" model instead of the "compact pickup" models.

the latches are very good, michael.. i have had not a single problem out of that toolbox...

i just keep some... things i don't want getting stolen in the toolbox, so adding some more protection was all i did...
