A soft tonneau may look better, but doesn't actually provide the fuel savings it claims. Whoever posted above about the myth-busters episode was correct. Leave tailgate in. I didn't like the big emblem originally but then I got used to it. To each his own.

 

I got my tail gate and my side emblems shaved off. I think it looks so much better. I have a buddy in the body work business so I was able to get a really good deal.

 

About the sides.

My "other" truck has had no tailgate for the 3 years I have owned it plus who knows how many years before and I can take the driver side bed side and move it about a foot left and right. I finally put a racket strap to keep it from flopping around.

 

i removed my tailgate emblem and put a sticker magnet to cover the holes :)

sticker magnet ---- get dirt under it and scratches the paint....


ford emblem ---- sits there and says ford.....

i like them to i am going to be sanding my tailgate down this year and getting all the rust off of it and shaving the old emblem holes and putting the big emblem and the ranger elblem to make it lookm like a new ranger from the rear and all my emblems will then match to a new ranger.

 

i like the big emblem. i think the ranger emblem just clutters it up on the tailgate

I dig the big emblem, what would be cool, is one of those swing out tailgates like the new Honda Ridgline has

I have the small emblem and i hate it.

I'm going to remove it, and weld in a new plate to get rid of those holes.
