Removing that bigass ford emblem off my tailgate
Not that I'm not proud to have a Ford truck or anything, but damn the emblems on the 06-07 rangers in the center of the tailgate are huge. They are the same size as the F-150 emblems but our tailgate is half the height of those. I wish ford would have compensated for that. I saw an 06 like mine but in black at school and he removed the emblem but their were two or three pretty visible holes. How could I fill those out so it would look normal in the center like the 05's and down??

Yes ther are holes behind the ranger emblem as well as the tailgate emblem.
I too wanted to take alll the emblems off but cannot without some body work.
I heard that the Mazda tailgates have no holes in them and you can take the Mazda emblem off and have a compleatly smoth (with NO holes) tailgate.

When my ranger finally gets here the first thing I plan to do is remove the tail gate, to cut down on wind resistance. I will keep some kind of net in the truck to cover the opening.
No, I wasnt able to watch my truck being built.
Nich, you need to get your mind right. Or someone else will.

if u saw the mythbusters thingy
keeping the tailgate on forms an air bubble in ur bed
causing air to go over smoothly.
putting it down or taking it off, kills the bubble n makes for more resistance.

And I've thought about jacking someones else's tailgate, but that's where it ended. Never do you mess with someone else's car/truck. I wouldn't want someone to do that to me, so why would I do that to someone else.

the tail gate is structural to the best sides its support. if you remove it the bed sides can "wobble" loose in time and the seams crack and becomes horrible.. thus why dune trucks when they remove the tailgate they install 45deg braces on the bed sides..

Because we were talking about removing the tailgate for cutting down on wind resistance I have a question. The whole reason you would cut down on wind resistance is to get better gas mileage right?
Isnt the best thing to cut down on a wind resistance and increase mpg getting a soft tannauo cover? (sorry to break into this thread just wondering)
