Now if you get together some detail shots of body fitment, and it painted, ill be most likely ordering one through a dealer of mine. but no reason to be a snob.

 

Any word on when the 01-03 would be around. My 02 needs a hood, my powerdome is cracking.

 

Yes Mike has 2000-2009 hood ready for sale, his phone # 310 327-2337 or mike@mpdfiberbodywerx.com. open monday thru friday. tell him if you want hood pin or latch type and the year and color needed. I believe black and ford white is available, I am very happy with mine.

what's the final price? and can it just be had in bare fiberglass for less?

No, not painted. still black, which I like. I still have not rec'd the bill for mine, I sure it will come next week=now. I think Gelcoat blk or ford white for hood pins were $320.00 and with the additional hood latch fiberglass bracket part it probably more. You can have a local shop paint to match your color.

I guess the reply on the front bumper/Valance you never got. The picture is what Mike calls a Valance and sells it for $160.00 in gellcoat black or ford white.

I posted some finished pics in the thread on fiberglass fenders #25 , the reason I have not painted my black hood is I may change to white, with a full body kit from Mike McQueen.

As I have said before there are feature of some styles that lppk good and they should be made for the Ranger so this is a step in the right direction.

The hood is made for a Ranger and looks good, not like some of the add-on, wide fender’d, what ever you want to call them.

I have the Power Dome Hood, was wondering if this guy will make a Scoop add on for an existing powerdome.
I was thinking on painting my hood so a little bodywork before hand might work.

What is next in this guys bag of parts ?

Your e-mail, at least I think it was from you, a response from THE web site, stated the scoop/vent area is large and would require a lot of work.
I guess it will be easier to use the whole hood then sell mine.

In strength are these hoods, with the OEM Latch, as strong as the ’03 Power Dome Style Hoods ?

They are direct replacements correct ?

And are the scoops/vent openings opened up when purchased or closed ?

Scrambler 82, The hood is a direct replacement. It comes with pockets for the hood hinge bolt up
which has 1/4 20 stainless steel inserts already molded in. The hood can be made with a material
insert (parabeam) for $30 xtra which makes it stronger than stock hood and half the weight.

Also we cut the louvres so that rain will run off without going in the engine.(a direct hit cant be stopped)
The strength to weight ratio is unbelievable.

 

mike, you said they are stronger then stock but what about the latch? i dont wanna use hood pins if i dont have to. i know i can purchase subtle ones that screw instead of a cotter pin but im still not a fan.

i will be calling you when im ready to purchase however i have to wait a little bit for any larger purchases like this.

The Louvers can they be left closed ?

 

Yes the louvres can be left shut, And the 03 and up has a the latch position under the hood to just swap your "U" shaped (2 bolt) latch onto it, not a problem.

One last thing, how thick is the hood ?

You mentioned half the weight, not worried about weight just the durability.

Its strong enough to stand on if you get the$380 model,(top of the three different layups) this incorporates a material,(parabeam) which is hell for strong. the $350 hood has coremat, the $320
one is plain fiberglass. All come out of the same mold. The special is if you buy the whole kit.
