Icon2 Question on changing bumpers (not valence), what will work?

Attached is what my truck currently looks like. It's an 01' XLT 2wd.

I believe the previous owner just painted over the metal bumper because where there are rock chips it's rusting. I keep dabbing it with touch up paint but there is only so much one can do...

So I was thinking replacing the bumper but keeping the lower valence. I am almost 100% positive the dude put on a 4x4/edge bumper because on the sides I can see the tabs and the part of the valence that "clips" into the bumper... Which would indicate that it is a 4x4 bumper?

I want to replace the chipping white bumper for a chrome one since my rear bumper is chrome, and my mirrors are chrome. I don't think it would look bad.

This is the look I am wanting to go for, See attached pictures:

I found this bunper:

01 03 02 Ford Ranger XL 2WD Front Bumper Up Chr w Hole | eBay

I just want to make sure this is correct before purchasing but it DOES have the side tab slots which mine has I believe. I noticed that on normal XLT/XL's the chrome bumper goes all the way back where the one I have does not, which indicates that above ebay link would work?

Thanks,
-Nigel

Yes, it is entirely possible. They're the same thing, essentially. Main difference is the finish. Overall, they're identical. Go for it!

btw, I don't believe that 2wd/4wd/edge/whatever has ever made a difference as far as bumpers are concerned. The only thing that (i'm aware of) it designates is which one to use, whether it be chrome or color keyed, fogs or no fogs or any combination thereof.

Definitely order chrome, though. Gotta break up the body color.
