Why would you run dual sticks? Our trucks aren't wide enough to use them.

What do you mean our trucks are not wide enough? I have seen Rangers with them and they look fine. I would run dual sticks because that is what I have in the garage.

For them to be usable, like the big rigs run it was to be a certain width that is wider than our trucks. You can install them but its pointless for usability, only looks.

Do some research on it, someone posted up a bunch of links before on it, they're supposed to be like 7-9 feet away from each other which isn't possible.

I mounted mine on the front of the bed, between the cab and the bed. It was a B*T*H to install because of the lack of room. With 20-20 hindsight, the install would have been a good deal easier if I had undone the 4 bolts holding the bed and slid it hack 6" or so.

As for the single vs duel antenna argument. Blackedge is correct. But only partially so. Performance wise, one antenna will do as well or better than 2. The distance between the 2 antennas is important (9 feet is optimal. With 5 feet being the minimum.) and Rangers just aren't wide enough for that minimum distance required. However, even on something like an 18 wheeler, there are so many problems with the setup, that a single antenna will work just as well.

If you're interested, here's a link explaining some of the problems involved.

http://www.ask.com/bar?q=CB+Antenna+Installation&page=1&qsrc=6&zoom=B est+%3CKW%3ECB+Antenna%3C%2FKW%3E|%3CKW%3ECB%3C%2F KW%3E+Radio+%3CKW%3EAntennas%3C%2FKW%3E|Mounting+a +%3CKW%3ECB+Antenna%3C%2FKW%3E&ab=6&u=http%3A%2F%2 Fwww.firestik.com%2FTech_Docs.htm

Having said that, I too like the LOOK of dual antennas. So I plan to put 2 on my truck. The one on the passenger side will be connected to the CB. The drivers side will be for the trucks AM/FM radio. I'll then remove the antenna from the passenger side front fender.
Still have to do some reading/research on this setup. Not sure if an antenna designed for a CB will run an AM/FM radio. If they won't I'll just run a splitter on the passenger side and the drivers side will just be a dummy.

Yeah I just did some more research on it. When they are 4.5' apart the performance is the same or less than 1 antenna. The farther you have it apart the more difference there will be.

I had dual 8 foot SS whips on my 97 2wd. Only one was functional, but it completed the RC Car look LMAO I thought it looked great and it got out really nice. Wilson makes an excellent antenna. I'm running a Firestik on the back of mine similar to Trigger's setup. Same mount. I don't use it much, but I have some friends that drive rigs that I see sometimes in the morning on the way to work during my hour commute, so it makes it entertaining. Running duals would be ok if you only plan on utilizing one of them...i.e. only connecting one and the other would be for looks. Just make sure that whatever you do, you peak and tune it yourself or get it peaked and tuned or you might fry the radio and it will affect your transmit/receive power. It's nice to have friends that drive rigs that have that have CB tuning equipment lying around lol
I need to work on where to put my CB though....I'm not sure I'm happy with this location...
