mud flaps=lllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

i took mine off instantly when i bought my truck. they are pointless to me.

the whole underneath of my truck is caked in mud and i cant work on my truck without getting dirt in my eyes. hahaha.

anyway ya the factory mudflaps are pretty lame.

i took mine off my f350 with swampers and got a fix it ticket from the chp. so i went to a rubber stamp place called delta rubber and just had a couple of square pieces of rubber stamped out and drilled some holes into them and boom instant mud flaps. so you could do something like that if you dont want those stupid plastic ones that will break.

It's spring now, so who the hell needs mudflaps?

Just gets annoying in the winter with slush and snow buildups in rust prone spots.

Saw this truck at Walmart the other day, sounds like just the flares and flaps you want.

Those flares won't have the gap at the bottom like your current flares do when you ditch the flaps after winter. My old truck had the stiff flaps... i hated them.

They will fit. The ones pictured above are the newer 01-05 OEM Ford Ranger non painted fender flares and stock 93+ mudflaps. Only 98-00 got the molded fender flares plus mudflaps. My 01 Edge came with front and rear mudflaps from the factory but all the 03+ 4x4 Rangers haven't had the front mud flaps. I'm not sure why the 03s didn't get them because I thought the 04s would have been the cut off.

Anyways I love my mud flaps as they save my rockers and rear fender flares from getting the painted chipped off them.

The flares on that Mazda are NOT, I repeat NOT the same as 01-05 Rangers. There are subtle differences, primarily where the flare meets the lower body line. The body line on the Ranger is much more pronounced than on the Mazda beds, and the Ranger flares are cut out to fit the body line, whereas the Mazda flares are flat with almost no cutout.

The Mazda

A Ranger (ignore the wax on my flares...)

In this pic you can clearly see the difference I am talking about.

I took mine off cause I hated they way it made my truck look. Even with the holes I still prefer them off. I was thinking about cutting my mudflaps down so that way I can fill the holes it and see what it looks like.

4LO 4.0 cut his flaps. Take a look at his truck if you want to know what cut flaps look like.
