answer these questions

have you ever waxed your truck?
have you ever polished your truck?

do you wash your truck once a week on a regular basis? or even once every couple weeks?

id say go for it, but i would sand the whole truck down yourslelf with 320 to get the orig. clear off, then go to 600 wet to smooth it all out, and pull ur mirrors out, lights out, and tape the windows urself. and DEFFINATELY cover the wheels.

I got my old 98 Cavalier Z24 painted at Maaco about 4 - 5 years ago and they did a great job. I sold the car to a friend and to this day with proper waxing and cleaning the car still shines like crazy and looks awesome. Kinda regret selling it now. .. woulda made for a great daily driver since the Rangers so damn hard on gas.

NO As a painter I can tell you not to do it. Nothing but hacks that can't make it in the real world or illegals work there. And they use Sherwin Williams paint (GARBAGE) that wont hold up. If you do go for it take everything off you can because it will get paint on it. They just tape around stuff and will not remove anything. I've seen emblems just cleared over and taped off. They don't color sand anything so there will be dirt and runs in the paint. Plus all those scratches you mentioned wont be sanded out and primed. They use "sealer" over it and hope for the best. And the dents wont be fixed just loaded with bondo and painted over with out proper prime so you will still see what we in the body bus. call "a**holes".

Just get the dents fixed at a real shop and polish the rest of the truck. and get them to give you touch up. You're better off.

Is there Vo-Tech school near you? Do they teach body work? If so check them out. Near me is one they do a pretty good job cause the instructor is with them for a good price. I know people that have had their cars painted at the school and they were pleased with the work.

What type of paint will Maaco use? When my '60 Ranchero was painted the paint alone was $600. The paint job is valued at $5500. Of course he doesn't paint motorcycles or helmets. Just food for thought.

You dug up a thread from 06' to give a response that doesn't even make sense?

PS - You're missing a couple periods, commas and capital letters as usual.
