lookin to get duals

i got a question bout exhaust?? most people who get dual exhaust on trucks get it strait out the back or angled after the back tires. i wanna get mine coming out in front of the back tires kind of like a ford lighting except one on both sides. i was lookin under my truck and the gas tank is right there on that side. i guess my question is could it be done with the gas tank there or what?? i can take pics of what i mean but its late ill get them 2 morrow

Doubtful!

Only way would be if ya done it yourself, but I wouldn't recommend it at all.

An reputable exhaust shop won't run it under the fuel tank for safety reasons, not only are most Ranger tanks plastic, but if you was to get a fuel filler hose leak or breather tube leak that could leak raw fuel onto the exhaust pipe, could/would be DISASTER!

I've eliminated that saddle tank for a fuel cell, but I did have a Bronco II tank mounted where the spare tire was, which would work for what your wantin to do, but you would have to extend you wires, lines, & whatnot.

My Bronco II tank is in EXCELLENT condition & is FOR SALE, and could be shipped as I've never had any gas in it since I've had it & it was reconditioned before I bought it. Shippin would be a lil' pricey due to the size.
$75 + shippin.

Ben I hate to say it but i don't think it can be done. You don't want a HOT exhaust pipe under your gas tank. You could do a lightning style and run them both out the same side. Either way I think a SIDO muffler sounds better.

I would get it done at Brooks Ramseys on RT40 near mountain road. They are soppose to be the best muffler place around.

I hope to get mine done soon. I think I am getting them straight out the back. I really wanted one out each side like stock but one on each side, but with the monster RCD shackles I don't think it will fit.

Only difference Winks is SISO with a dual tip. I am not sure what muffler winks has but I think Billy Gatorblue92 SIDO flow 40 with them straight out the back sounds 10 times meaner and he has a 3.0. Sorry Winks.

What muffler you plan on getting Ben ?

I plan on getting SIDO flow 40. I am going to see what the guy at the muffler shop says but i am going to try my hardest to get one out each side if there is room.

I have a question about exhaust pipes going near the gas tank, I know my mustnag has Exhaust pipes running RIGHT next to it. I'm not trying to be an *** but i really just don't understand what you guys are talking about when you say it will be close to the thank.

I've got the original 40 SI/SO. It sounds pretty good, I wanted the duals coming out the side like the lightning, but it was $100 more so I went with the split tip.
