how to remove front emblem?

Hey guys,

I tried searching a bit, didn't come up with anything. How do you remove the front emblem on a 2010 ranger? I've done de-badging before and it mostly involved fishing line, a heat gun, and goo-gone.

Didn't know if this was the same process or if there were small bolts that needed taken off in order to remove it or not. Basically the clear coat is coming off and the dealership is just sending me a new emblem, so I can replace it myself.

Thanks in advance!

Its hard to explain but you have to take the grille off then there are two round one time use washer things that you have to clip off then you have to use a screw driver and push on the plastic things on the backside of the grille... Hopefully Scott (Dixie_Boysles) will chime in as I dont have that style grille on my truck anymore so I cant take pictures

I do think there is two-side tape on there too. Those one way/one time use nuts bite into those plastic tabs. I used a deep wall socket to push them on the new front emblem I got for my 89 mustang.

its two sided taped with one time use nuts on the back, get your fishing line, and those nuts should spin off even tho they are one time use.

I just did this today, very easy. On my 2007 I didn't have to remove the grill, just the top 4 screws. The grill will hinge out. Clip off the speed nuts, they will not pull off backwards. Save them and push the clipped off stud through so u can use them again or just get new ones.

On my truck the front emblem had no glue on the back of it, whew! So it popped right off once the speed nuts were off.

The rear emblem needed fishing line to cut through the glue, but it did not have speed nuts. Once popped off, lots of goo gone and a paint scraper to clean up the mess.

Install new emblems :)

I've never seen other ford emblems get ruined so quick, not sure why ours seem so prone to discoloring so quickly.

By "Clip off" what do you mean for the one time speed nuts? Do I have to cut them off with some tin snips or something? Don't really see a way to un-clip them.

Pretty sure you have to cut them off... I think that's what I did to mine.
