fishing rod holder

so i've been searching around for a rod holder for my bed just to transport all my rods back and forth. Well i didn't find anything. No1 seems to make one. so i opted to make one myself. I bought the materials for 60 bucks from a local metal supplier in new jersey, and i thought I'd just show you some of my ideas for my truck and the rod holder 3/4 of the way finished.

let me kno what you think

very nice! I am planning something of the same design for my mountain bike. Are you just going to use the weight of the rack to hold itself in the stake holes or do you have another way of locking it in?

looks nice but them angles are pretty high. You got a lot of 2-pc poles? If not watch out for them trees!

i have some j bolts to go thru the holes on the holder and hook into the stake holes or they have those rubber blocks that expand when tightened up that i might use not sure yet i have to put to more 45 degree angle holders one on each end for the big surf rods that way they arent stickin up and hittin trees. that was my only worry when making it.

Nice, I was looking for something similar to that but anything similar already made is big $$$. I was planning on mounting some rod holders to my plastic box, but I got real lazy and screwed a couple 8" pieces of PVC painted black lol. I just don't want the Stradics rolling around getting scratched or bending any eyelids.

just found those...I'm sure you can just take a regular bolt and run it through the plate instead of the circle

or go here...http://www.cargogear.com/infolib.asp...chorpointVBjpg
