I wouldn't mind having a set of Edge color-matched flares on my steppie...

I know it would look okay on the front, but it's the rear I'm worried about...

I swapped a Stepside to my Edge and took the flares off of the Styleside Bed and have been thinking on putting them on.
I like the look, not too big and color matched to the truck - bright red.
A couple nights ago I decided to do it; the Edge Flares fit the bed and don't stick out too much but the OEM method of fastening them is the problem.
Ford uses a push in pin type of fastener, you need to know where the holes go and drill a few holes; here is where I wish Ford did something simple.
I will attempt to use the OEM push pins along the lip of the Wheel Well Opening (easy do) and use Bolts at both lower mounting points (another easy do) but the edge of the flare that goes along the body has got me.

Is there some sort of "edge trim/adhesive strip" that can be applied to the Flares to secure the flare along the body ?

Please someone tell me there is such a thing... ?

It took like 5 hours to do mine. It was a PITA. I used a combination of drilling holes to use the factory rivets as well as using 3M tape/adhesion promoter where I failed with the holes lol. To answer ur last question, 3M makes automotive grade bonding tape that you can't find in stores, and you're supposed to use their adhesion promoter in tandem with the tape...paint & body shop guys are like the only ones who have access to this stuff.
I have plenty of the tape left, but don't have any more adhesion promoter (which is very important for the longevity of the bond).
I started out marking the exact spots where I was supposed to drill. PM me if you want more details on that. it took a long time to determine exactly where they went. To drill in the exact spots is pretty painstaking and took a while and I still messed up on a few of them. But it is possible. You also drill and mount the flares from the bottom in several places which is easier. The key is to take your time and go slow and having another set of hands to help would be really good.
There are 2 types of fasteners used, the ones that pop into the side holes, and also the tree-style pins that go up into the bottom of the flares.

Side question about flares, my 04 edge has the painted to match fender flares, i like the style of flares that are on it, but was wondering, can you get the same style flares, in a black texture finish....like the mirrors are?

or can i paint them with something that they wll have the same type of texture,

i like the white with black accent look, and would love matching flares. would help tie it together a little more.

I have thought about grabbing a set from the junkyard to put on my truck to see how they look.
