and now the whoring has begun!

It's a Peterson 169-3. Wal Mart carries the Peterson brand, but i've never seen this lamp there. It's a 6-LED light, two right next to eachother, giving the illusion of 3 lights. it's one housing thats sealed. Ran me about $20 or $30 from a local sporting good store.

Excuse me! i fixed that problem a long time ago. the problem of not being able to drop the tailgate. It's good to you know actually dont mind my lights.

i'm thinking about adding two of the single lamps on the outsides...like this ford dually...

OH....

I used to run one of these...

They are incandescant....and bright as snot! they were as bright or brighter than my brake lights when i was incandescant. IF you wanna keep it all incandescent, you could just get one of these for about $12 and paint the chrome like i did...

because well.....that damn bulb blows all the damn time. moisture gets in there and destroys the bulb. its VERY common. i havn't had an issue with mine now that i'm LED, but before, i'd pop 'em once every 6months it seemed like.

OH....and well.....Line Of Fire and my lights are wired into the running lights...aka means they are on whenever the taillights are on. That probably is what you're seeing and thinking why the third light isnot on.

LED lightbar

I too would like to put an LED lightbar underneath my tailgate but my concern is if I have to take off my spare since it looks like it would cover that hole that you need to put the spare removal tool into.

So carry a wrench/screwdriver around... how often do you really access your spare?? I think the extra 5 min to take of the line of fire is well worth it...

It does cover the hole, but you can unscrew it with a philips if you have to get at it.

Old thread I know. But I have one of these same Light bars but it LED and I am trying to mount it and it seams like the tailgate is gonna hit it when I drop the tailgate. Did you have this problem? If so how did you fix it?

I dont want to screw it on only to have to take it off due to it messing with the function of the tailgate.

Thanks
