Couple pics with flares gone, and the dreaded metal rivet... thing...
Sorry if the pics are dim... What can I say... I'm Canadian... I wake up this morning, throw on my swim shorts and step out the front door of my igloo for a nice swim to cool down in this horrible heat... and what do I get... clouds EH!
Anyways, here's what I could do quickly this morning to show you what and where these rivet things were... as I said, one of them is kinda loose so I was able to pull it away from the body a bit and look at the shank, and it appeared to be maybe ribbed, but not threaded like a screw... and there is some sort of plastic surround on the inside of the fender, similar to whats on the exterior.... No idea how to get it off...
Pics :)...
Ok so here is a pic or two of the metal rivet... things...

This gives you a clear idea of where on the panel they are located. Bottom right of the panel, next to the door.

That little paint detail line there... They couldn't protect the panel better?? C'mon Son!

Ahhh :), such an improvement on the rear end.. with the fender flares on basically just the side walls and lugs were exposed beyond the flares. Stance IS everything. Now I can look down the side of the truck, line up the front and rear fender, and HEY, the sidewall of my tires and how far they stick out the truck lines up too.. before the front end seemed to extend out about an inch further from the flares than the rear did.. wasn't happy with that.

A shot of what I see when I look out my side mirror :) Ver' Nice.. paint chips here I come!

Yep, I think I'll try and sneak into my employers heated warehouse over a weekend and give it a good waxing... tough to get it clean and then drive to another location without messing up the paint again though in canadian winters :(

No worries, I'll fill them... for now I don't care... give it time... the end justifies the means... or in the case, putting up with a dozen+ holes over every wheel well :)

and what if when I do the bedliner on the panels... I do the same thing to my aluminum tool box.. really tie the whole truck together.... or hey... anyone ever seen a ranger entirely blacked out with bedliner?? lol Just kidding.. that's a bit much
OH! and the **** that was under there after only a year and a half on the roads... no rust that I've spotted yet.. but man, just the collection of ****.. add to that those paint scratches gradually getting deeper... those scratches alone were enough to make me want to remove the flares. If I ever wanted em back on i'd wrap that whole inner lip of the plastic flares with some sort of rubber like most aftermarket ones have.
