Color Matched LineX
Carl (buckgnarly) gave me the idea when I met him at the 4wheel Drive Jamoboree in Vt. last weekend to get color matched LineX on the outisde of my truck from the lowest bodyline down. I email the guy that did Carls Jeep and he quoted me $900 for all. the only thing is that hes in NH and I'm in NY. Do you think I should do it or keep the truck the truck the way it is.
Heres some pics of the truck...
It will be from this body line down and the flat surface above the front wheels
Tell me what you guys think or maybe if some body wants to they can photoshop that part black.

weaker as in fades, scratches. comes off. something about mixing a color into it causes it to be weaker. because i wanted to get blue and it was gonna look cool, but he told me those are only for show trucks that have nothing put in the bed,the color fades crazy quick and itll peel alot faster than the black. ive had the black sprayed in my bed for 2 years and its blacker than Micheal Jackson rofl

Well say you do get the color matched and it is tough and doesn't peel or anything, few years down the road it fades. Now what do you do? Now you just have an ugly faded blue, Where as black might fade and turn gray which will still look good either way.

True I dont think I have seen any liner yet fade and go grey

Colors will not fade as long as they put a UV protectant over it, which is also sprayed on. The owner of a local lining shop had his Ranger sprayed red from the bodyline down about 3 or 4 years ago and it has not faded one bit. The drawback is that they cannot exactly match a color lining if it needs repaired down the road.

I got an email back from the guy that did Carls Jeep he said its life time warrenty on everything. The UV would be sprayed with it and I know the colors wont be exactly the same but it would look kinda tu tone. Seems $900 is kinda steep but I'm going to a local shop Yipes tomarrow and see if they can do color with UV in it and how much.
Look at there website

You are correct. The color matched LineX has UV protectant in it, and it is not any different than the black. The base is color neutral LineX with a colored topcoat.
Randy's Onyx in his tub is real nice, and he claims his guy can color match. I went LineX b/c of my past experience with it. I've just found LineX to be the best out there.
