Bed floor repair

I have an 04 Ranger with a hole rusted in the bed floor. It’s where the heat pad was for the exhaust.
I have a bed liner so I can still use the bed but walking in that area could crack the liner with winter coming on.

I was thinking of riveting sheet metal over the hole since it’s an 04.

Do you guys have any experience with this? A different idea or have you done the same thing?

I just pulled the bed liner out of my 95 and have a similar issue. The bed it rotten around the wheel fenders and at one of the forward mounting bolts. What did you end up doing?

Look for a used bed, 1993-2011 will work

Or find a dented up bed(cheap) and cut out the sections you need, cut them larger so you can rivet or screw them down, cut out the rusted section or it will spread
