about hids

well we were all sitting in the local parking lot when one of my buddys got pulled over for bright lights( hids) well the cop done the usual and license and reg check and etc when he asked do you know why i pulled you over.. umm no he said the bright lights you have are TOO BRIGHT!!!!! well he proceeded to tell us that next month that they are going to be illegal to have unless they were FACTORY. that i said then i laughed and said what just like underglow kits??? he was puzzled but any way the question is will they be and if so why do we spend so much trying to outdo others in our designing and the government telling us we cant do this to ours trucks. sounds like to me a bunch of older folks been sitting around drinking too much coffee and thinking.. lmao so anyway has anyne else heard of this and if so can we make a petition against making them illegal???

They have been illegal for about 10 years. Let me know how that petition turns out for you. If I were a cop I'd pull over every one of you plug-n-play HID wannabee's over as well.

If you want HID, do a retrofit.

alright what people dont realize is that the lights themselves are not illegal what he means by "factory" is that if you dont have the projector lenses there illegal. if youve noticed all the newer cars have the projector lens that focus the beam straight out and level. HID beams are scattered in a regular headlight housing wich is why there so bright to other drivers. get some projector lenses and they really cant say much

wrong.

when hids first came out a few cars didnt have projectors. What cars that came with hids have is a self leveling system.

some cars also have HID with reflector housings from the factory because the optics are designed for said reflector
