Upper and Lower Ball Joints

Well, I went to get my front end aligned today, finally. And got my truck back and they said it couldnt be done, I have to have ball joints on both sides. Yeaaah. Anyway, I figured I was getting screwed since they arent selling any vehicles, they have to money somehow, so I took it somewhere else and they said the same thing. My question is, to release the pressure off the A-arm, is just loosening the torsion bar up all I need to do, or is there something special I have to do. And does anyone make adjustable A-arms. (to adjust camber)

I am going to replace the whole upper A-arms, so dont I have to release the pressure to take it off the wheel assembly.

dont think so, you just remove the hub and spindle, then shock i believe, it has been a while since i have done mine lol.

There is a How-To on here somewhere.

Word of advice, get the MOOG uppers, they come with a replacable ball joint on the upper A-arm. A new upper ball joint is 38 bucks as aposed to 110 for a whole new arm.

You can just take the upper arms off and pound the lower ball joints out. If you need to adjust the camber then buy a camber kit.

Yeah, I know how to literally take them off, but I have my torsion bars cranked out, do I need to loosen them up or what?

torsen bars effect the LCA's, not the uppers. It is your spindle that atatches to them. It might make your life easier to uncrank them, but it is not nessisary.

Not true they make adjustable ball joints that have a nut around them and you can turn the ball joint cause its offset.
