o/d off light flashing

o/d off light flashing

i was driving on the expressway....and i was doing 75-80 and my o/d light started flashing....what could it be....i put it in park and turn the truck off at a red light and it stoped.....any suggestions

That is the equivalent of the Check Engine Light but it is for a transmission fault. You will need to get the trouble code pulled before you can track down the problem.

well.....mmmm i cant read codes.....my access port is not working.....i used a diablo tuner for a mustang to check it and a obd2 reader my freind has and both did not work.....any ideas on that

Check to see if the power fuse to the Data Link Connector is blown. It is shared by the cigarette lighter and I believe it is #17 in the dash fuse panel.

Well I had this problem on my ranger when it hit about 30k. Took it to ford it turned out that they had to replace the valve body I believe it was under warrenty then

I just had that happen with my Xploder a couple days ago (amongst other things)... i'll let u know what the shop says it was whenever i hear it (you might know before me ha) i think mine is however worse than what urs is, its been in the shop for a couple days now, they had to pull my transmission.

There are MANY possible transmission trouble codes that could be stored when the O/D light is flashing. What happened to one vehicle may have absolutely nothing at all to do with what might be wrong with another. Before deciding in advance what the problem is, the trouble code(s) should be pulled.
