Lunch box VS Full carrier

meh, i may keep the spool..
hopefully after i do coils i can save some $$ and get a DD/tow pig.. then I can put a hydraulic ram on the axle with some alloys. the ram will make it easier to turn.. but my turning radius, especially if i spool the rear axle will SUCK.. I was in the buggy this weekend and he had to execute what i want to say was about a 10pt turn to get flipped around on the trail.. tires at full lock but the buggy wasnt turning much which leans me back to the locker..
but a locker unloads and locks unpredictably at times, again pushing me towards the spool since I KNOW whats happening and how the truck will react.
just more money right? thats what this damn hobby is all about it seems like, not as much having fun, but spending money..

locker vs spool
unpredictable.. vs predictable --- spool
better turning vs shatty turning --- locker
less broken shafts vs more broken shafts --- locker
less broke hubs vs more broke hubs --- locker
more money vs already in the truck --- spool
locker's winning, but still partial to the spool.
D60 - $1000
Locker - $550 - detroit?
Gears - $200
Install kit - $200
Reid Knuckles - $?? wayyy expensive
Hydraulic ram, carry over from D44?
35 spline outers...?
Warn Premiums - $200
a V8 and doubler is going to happen eventually, so a 60 will have to happen as well. I should just beef the **** out of the D44 until i can get some rockwells built, problem solved.

would be a lot easier if I could adjust those numbers myself

So far I have heard a couple of you say that ARB has a bunch of problems. If you do a good job wiring and take care installing it you shouldn't have any problems at all. I always carry electrical stuff with me just in case I tear up wiring, but If you keep everything out of harms way you will be good. As far as leaks go, that isn't the locker's fault that is whoever set up your OBA. If he were to use the powertank there wouldn't be any problem at all as long as he used a regulator and didn't go over 105 psi. I have never had any problems with my ARB.

hmm
flanges+spool+D44.. bad idea? haha
the axle was origionally a live axle, so i have what are essentially drive flanges sitting down in the garage, i keep meaning to put them in the bag I leave in the truck with small spare parts.
once i get a 60 it will have flanges i think, I just want full hydro, i can deal until then

If you come to Boulder at the end of the month I'll let you drive my truck with the hubs locked.. actually, yours did suck! but i think I still have you beat, sad part is you dont have a reason i do think the yoda box has more gear reduction than the R&P, but it could just be me, it seems easier to turn than it used to.
if i go full hydro i wont be using the ford pump-- SHI*Z WEAK!!, I'll probably get a whole setup from PSC.
