hubs...vacum to manual ?????

hubs...vacum to manual ?????

I have a '99 ranger 4x4 ...lookin to swap vacum hubs into manuals...wondering what i should get and instructions on how to do it....so i know whether i can do it myself..... i was lookin into the AVM hubs because other people said they go right in...but id like to get Warn hubs...will the go in as easily....let me know what i should do...and if you have a pics ...that would help.... THANKS

haha idk if you can get warn hubs for a 99, if you do by all means let me know!

i have the AVM ones, they work great, just dont disengage right away sometimes, who knows maybe all hubs to that?

and yes, they go right on lol

haha...yea ive looked cant seem to find em....im think to go with the avm's but gotta fork up the money for new bearings a ***** joints first ...so the old ones pull out and new ones slide ...??? no right way to like em up???

Wheel bearings are not serviceable. They must be replace in a new unit at the tune of 200 bucks, depending on source.

ebay is slightly cheaper.

under 200 a piece from here for ford parts. I have bought 2 so far from them, good service.

you can buy AVM hubs on ebay my buddy just did his last week... and NO there is NO other company but AVM that has 98-00 manual hubs

with those hubs all you have to do is just put them on. You don't need to change anything do you.

Yeah man. AVM hubs. Took me all of 15 minutes including jacking the truck up and removing both tires to switch them and they work great.

yea, taking the old ones off is trickey if you dont want to break the tabs, but once they are off, you just pop these on. well your supposed to lock it while installing them.. but its as easy as thats.

thanks guys....ill order them soon and throw them in as soon as i get them...yea im havin a garage do the bearings for me....i know the guy real well so i just have to by the bearings 170 a piece...and its the whole unit...and just a question to throw out there...why cant the make this **** like the used too...axles, hubs, bearings, suspension....whatever it is...the dont make em like the used to...

You dont have to grease them when you do pads and rotors. Making a brake servicing faster.

Its a lot cleaner to replace them like this. Is it worth the price? IDK
