How to drain Transmission fluid?

I need to put some new transmission fluid in the old girl, but I'm not sure where the drain plug is.

I'd also like to know what's best to use.

Transmission is slipping, and gripping hard while accelerating and decelerating.

you remove the pan to drain it, replace the gasket and filter and use mercon V to re-fill it

not off hand, but if you know what the trans pan looks like, there is like 12 bolts i think that hold it on, remove them starting in one corner and working you way around so the fluid will drain kind of neatly, remove it completely and wash it out, clean the magnet, replace the filter, install new gasket, install pan, fill with fluid starting with 3 quarts and then adding until it is full but not over full

Thanks Toreador.

While a FWD vehicle, and very dumbed down, I think this might help me. Ha.
