hot brakes

hot brakes

ok my dad and i changes the shoes in my rear drums and now when i take off i hear a little wine and the drums get so hot that if you put water on them it will sizzle we tried taking back of cleaning every thing but still didnt work only thing i can think of is the shoes are rubbing but i dont know why. really need help!

Well, they are always gunna get hot,But check you wheel cylinder andmake sure its not seized and its retracting.

they might just be adjusted too tight. back off on the self adjuster a couple clicks

Either you have a broken return spring or a seized cylinder or mis adjusted brakes.

Had a somewhat similar problem with the rear shoes "sticking" that was ultimately traced to a seized parking brake cable, so you might want to check that as well.
