Hard to shift into First and Reverse.

I noticed lately, that its been getting harder to shift into first and sometimes reverse. I been searching and I'm confused to whether I need a Shifter bushing kit, Or I need to check the slave and master slave cylinder or perhaps both, I don't think the clutch is bad yet because I haven't noticed any slipping.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the classic slave cylinder failure.

Aw I was hoping it wasnt, Its not crazy hard to shift or anything, But sometimes it takes a bit more force to puch into first. How hard is it to drop the tranny to fix it?

If it goes into gear easy with the engine off but harder with it running, it is probably the slave. Dropping the trans is not too hard on a 2WD; obviously, it is more involved if your Ranger is a 4x4. You'll probably want to install a fresh clutch while it's apart - especially if the slave has spewed fluid all over it. This would be a good time to pick up a shop manual if you don't already have one.
