So as the bill says...

OD light comes on - lack of power
Self test and road test - Code P0733 -
Removed Transmission pan and valve body. Found valve body gasket blown out
Replaced plate and modified valve body. Updated PCM
Road test OK - has slight reverse delay - If any additional problems experienced with transmission we would advise replacement with a factory rebuilt assembly
Now onto the parts...

(QTY) - FP Number - Description

(1) 1L5Z-7Z490-CA PLATE-CONTRO
(1) 3L5Z-7M203-JA VALVE ASSY - PR
(1) F5TZ-7A191-A GASKET
(9) XT-5-BM (Nothing listed, my guess is Mercon V ATF)

Well, add my wife's Sport Trac to this list. The OD Off indicator cycles back and forth with the trip odometer and it hangs onto 1st gear to about 3500rpm. I'm dropping off my dog tomorrow for surgery that will cost me $1000 and now this. When it rains it pours I guess. Should I take it to the dealer or ask around for some good tranny shops?

Well, dropped it off at the dealer this morning and got a call couple hours later. Said the codes it threw out were "wrong gear ratio 1st" and "wrong gear ratio 5th" if I recall correctly. Said the oil was little burnt up and that the problem was more than likely internal. Said they would need to take the transmission down and take it apart to inspect it. Should know more Monday or Tuesday. Anything I should look out for?

Ouch. For that you could have manual swapped it twice!

I have a 95 ranger 2.3l and a 4r44e a/t. I'm have the same issue with the o/d light blinking. I rebuilt it because I had lost ALL forward gears (and reverse} come to find out I the front pump was seized. Which in turn ruin the torque converter and stator. now after reinstalling it the o/d light is blinking (it did do prior to the rebuild}. Anybody have any more ideas besides checking codes or removing battery? It was extreme icy out and was spinning the tires like crazy which was what im sure caused it.

If anyone is thinking or doing a rebuild let me know I have some really good places to order parts from. and compared to the thousands you can spend taking it to a dealer ship I only spent 450.

My truck is an automatic and at 45 miles an hour my light would start flashing I have no problem just the blinking light there's no stalling or jerking at stop signals not sure what's going on
