Excessive RPMs while shifting Auto Trans

I have a 2003 Ranger, 4X2 with the 4 cyl engine. Just had the automatic transmission (5R55E) rebuilt. When driving the vehicle under normal conditions, it revs real high (35000+ RPM) when shifting from first to second gear. It seems to shift OK if you drive it like grandma would. I have been in contact with the folks that have re-built the transmission, waiting for their reply. Was wondering if there could be something else causing this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really don't want to pay for another transmission re-build.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum

That would be abnormal operation, does OD work?
OD is used for 2nd gear in the 5R44E

Not sure why you would have to pay again if you just paid????
